Metal Gear REX, the nuclear-armed bipedal tank developed in secret by DARPA and Arms Tech at a nuclear weapons disposal site on Shadow Moses Island from the Metal Gear game series, joins Bandai's Chogokin lineup. This figure is made with die-cast alloy in various parts to achieve the texture and solid feel of a weapon; the Chogokin series' original armor-deployment gimmick exposes the internal frame and die-cast parts.
The distinctive camouflage pattern is recreated with paint, and the railgun used to launch the nuclear warhead is recreated at approximately 26cm in length. The die-cast spikes can be moved independently. The head features an LED lighting gimmick, and multiple leg joints ensure a wide range of motion. The dedicated base allows for stable display in each of REX's forms, with two types of support joints for forward-leaning poses.
